Remember the Little Things...
"Be obedient to the prophetic teachings Christ would have you follow. Don't rationalize away future happiness by taking shortcuts instead of applying sound gospel principles. Remember: little things lead to big things. Seemingly insignificant indiscretions or neglect can lead to big problems. More importantly, simple, consistent, good habits lead to a life full of bountiful blessings."
- Elder Richard G Scott

MONDAY  MISSION WIDE FITNESS DAY

Dear Zone Leaders and Sister Leader Trainers.
Monday August 17th 2015 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. We will have a mission wide fitness day which will be your zone activity for the cycle. Everyone will meet in individual zones and participate as an entire zone. Please take pictures of the fitness activities and description of your planned fitness day. Below are some ideas for you to in-cooperate if you so choose.
We want this to be a fun day – that is exhilarating with fitness and puts missionaries outside their comfort zone- yet teaches and motivates them to increase their level of exercise in the mission including personal health and food preparation. We hope everyone feels it when they wake up the next morning- working those muscles that have not been worked out for a while!
Please submit specific plans to President via Email no later than Friday morning August 14th for his review.
President’s assistants will attend and assist in Mezquital Zone
Sister Leader Trainer Trainers will attend and assist in the Tulancingo Zone
President and I will show up at other unspecified zones.
Use the following as your criteria to plan your activity day
CRITERIA:
- Physical fitness circuit for all to participate with 8-12 different stations repeated 2 or 3 times.
- Please include cardio, body weight exercises, etc… using only limited equipment if needed. (Chairs,   jump ropes)  TOTAL TIME: 1 hour
- ½ hour: teaching on a health topic including REVIEW LIST OF BLESSINGS FOR P-DAY.
-          Importance of exercise
-          Importance of Healthy eating and menu ideas
-          Body hygiene- house cleaning
30 min basketball game or soccer where EVERYONE can participate together.
30-45 min: meal or healthy snack as you desire.
15 min entire zone clean up/ change clothes/ back out to their areas.
Total activity time 3.0 hours.
Kindly remind everyone they come dressed as missionaries and change after their arrival to the church. All P-day prep to be done before their travel. (House cleaning, laundry picked up, grocery shopping, and President written).  They might need to wake up extra early to get it all done.

The pictures below are from some of the zones that sent them in and they are in random order..
Special thanks to all the leaders for making it so much fun and for putting forth all the effort. I loved the multiple texts on how sore everyone was the following few days...

We didn't bring our blankets to take a nap?

Buenos dias Presidente,

Hello President:

This week  was really good because we had four investigators with date in the Sacrament meeting we are working so hard to find new people everyday one an experience that we had was our appointments fell so we were knocking doors we had a family with a lot of children but we did not knock their door and we went to another houses but when we return and passed in front the same house we felt the impression to talked with the poeple who live in that house, we did it we started to talk with them we introduce with them and our messages, at the begining they were so serious but the spirit touched their hearts and they told about their family, sorrows and what they expect from our visits they are very good at the end we were laughing with them very quickly we won his trust I o happy because this experience motivates me to continue working and knocking a lot of doors, with my companion we adapted very easy he is very good he is learning a lot he is progressing so quickly he is inviteing to the baptism in the first visit. Sometimes I feel the reponsibility I have in my hands with my district and be trainer but I know with the help of the Savior I will do it. Thank you President I love you so much.

Friday Date Night
We actually took 1.5 hours to ourselves and
went out to eat. Not one missionary called during that time.
Our missionaries are being so thoughtful as we recently started to set aside Friday nights at 5:00 pm to go on a date for a few hours if possible. They have been encouraged to NOT call us unless they are literally dying... : )  and they are being very respectful of that time with phone calls and texts substantially diminished.
Thank you so much Elders and Hermanas...

SATURDAY Morning BED BUG BRIGADE!!!
Well these missionaries have been fighting the invasion of bedbugs for quite some time and so Hermana Egbert left very early to help fight the battle....
Praying we won!!!

When the original efforts were not effective in resolving these hard headed rascals we took on the bed bugs with much enthusiasm, sweat and determination....

- Disposed of old mattresses, pillows, blankets, bed sheets, and curtains

- Cleaned, vacuumed, Clorox-ed everything, washed/dried clothes, jackets etc...

- Cleaned bathroom, defrosted fridge- freezer....

We felt like we made great efforts and now we will see if it paid off!

(Funny story- So we threw the mattresses outside while cleaning and made a pile inside their locked gate of the bags of garbage and when we went to the street to load things back in the mini van and the mattresses were gone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...I hope they like the bed bug mattresses! UGH! )

Such good sports....  a coke for their efforts from Hermana Egbert!

Hola Presidente!

Yesterday something happened that I think has changed the rest of my life. A family of recent converts didn't show up to church, so my companion and I went to visit them in the afternoon. We hadn't been there a half and hour when an hermano and his wife with their RM son showed up to give a blessing and just visit. They showed up in their Sunday clothes. No one had to tell them. They were quick to observe and act. They keep the Sabbath day holy. I am forever changed by this great example. I understand better what the Lord expects of us and what His true disciples do to honor His holy day. Let's all do less sleeping, less watching TV, less cooking and less cleaning so that we can live one day a little more like what will be every day in the eternities.

Hermana S
