My companion took a log to the head, we got muddy but loved the feeling of serving someone who randomly needed our help! We LOVE serving in Molango"

English Exams, Interviews

and Family Home Evenings...

"Mom, seriously we aren't in trouble!

We were told to come for our interviews today instead of tomorrow!"

Mondays are NO P-days for these two!

Work- Work- Work starting in the office at 0700.

The office on Monday is busy with phone calls, mail pick up, meetings, interviews and everything else in between. So grateful for the office missionaries!

Elder Vigil and Elder Gomez stopped by as they were involved with a ward activity on their P-Day.

And yes, Elder Herrera was one of the six missionaries

that passed their final English Exam today!

Congratulations to all of them- we are so proud of their efforts!

Hola presidente, como esta??

yo bien y esta semana estuvo genial, porque estamos contactando mas familias y en esta semana por ejemplo encontramos a una hermana con su hija y su nieto y nos presentamos y nos invitaron a pasar a su casa. Cuando llegamos en la casa donde vive hay 3 familias, en realidad son una familia, pero algo numerosa porque las hijas tienen sus parejas e hijos, bueno ese dia encontramos solo a 6, dos parejas y madre e hija. De los 6 aceptaron fecha 5, el papa no esta interesado, pero los otros 5 si, hacian muchas preguntas y siempre nos comentan que nosotros no llegamos de casualidad, que ellos quieren conocer la palabra y quieren un cambio en su vida. Son muy buenos. Luego ayer estuvimos buscando una casa de una familia menos activa me parece y preguntamos a una señora donde era la casa por las referencias que nos habian dado. Ella nos explico mas o menos donde era y ya nos ibamos a ir pero el elder V pregunto si podiamos presentarnos y ella dijo que si, y luego preguntamos si podiamos pasar a su casa y tambien dijo si. Luego al entrar nos comento que su madre era miembro de la iglesia y siempre le aconsejaba escuchar a los misioneros, ella siempre decia no a los compromisos y esa tarde con lagrimas en los ojos nos dijo que sentia que no habiamos ido por casualidad, nos comento la dificil situacion que vivia, sobre todo en el aspecto economico, conversamos un poco y le hicimos la invitacion y fecha bautismal y acepto ella y su hija y.... esa tarde fue muy especial en ese hogar se sintio mucho el espiritu. Esta semana fue muy especial, el poder contactar te ayuda a encontrar a esas personas preparadas y para esta semana tenemos citas con esas dos familias y con otras tambien pero solo fijamos una cita para esta semana y se siente especial el poder ayudar a las personas a aceptar y vivir el Evangelio, estas dos familias estan muy interesadas y dispuestas a cambiar.

Esta semana el viernes tenemos el bautismo de la familia Fraga ellos son muy buenos, se bautizan la mama y dos hijas, el papa era menos activo y el menor hijo tiene 5 años. Pero si estoy emocionado por mi primer bautismo, si supe que dijo que podemos bautizar una vez nomas, al comienzo no entendi mucho esa regla, pero ahora si pude entender cuando preguntamos quien quiere que las bautice y estaban algo dudosas, entendi la gran importancia de hacer visitas con los miembros el poder formar amistades y hermanamiento esta semana lo pude entender bien y de verdad agradezco tener esa regla porque se que va a ver un dia en el que no este y son los miembros los que se quedan y los(as) investigadores(as) tiene que tener amistades en el barrio para que no se sientan extraños ni mal.

Si esta semana aprendi mucho la importancia de los miembros en la obra misional, la importancia de contactar y agradezco al Padre Celestial por estas experiencias. Adios presidente le amo mucho a usted y su esposa de verdad, se que estan bien y gracias por el consejo de conocer el area ya estoy ubicandome mejor, presto mucha atencion a donde voy gracias por ese consejo.

These two sisters were extremely blessed as they had to move out of their other house as the owner decided to sell it; They found this house one street away! The district of Elders carried everything one block and helped them assemble their house furnishings! What a tender mercy....

The assistants have their house checked every week on Saturday!

So they aren't too sympathetic to any missionaries complaining of house inspections. So impressed how we find their house every weekend!

Hello president Egbert:

The last week was e week so interesting because I did learn many things on this week, I want to tell you some pinciple;

Some times as missionarys we think; he, she, they, etc. dont undertand the gospel, they dont listen us, It is not worth it, only we are losing the time because they dont understand.

This week I did learn theat it is a error, because Jesus Christ also was a missionary, he did talk with all people, some times, many times the people did not understand, inclusive the apostles some times did not undestand the principles that he taught, but he taught.

This week I did contact ti a woman and she said, you are losing your time with mi because I am thus and I will not change, so I think and said I know that I am not losing my time because Jesus Christ did the same, and he did not lose his time.

Now I know that every effort is helpful for the Lord´s work.

This is my testimony, I Know that it is a true work, and I am working here because it is a sacred work.

Doctor- Hermana Stephens (Mexico Medical Director) met us at the Mixi Church to check on a missionary that has been ill. We are so grateful Elder Castillo will recover and that it is not as serious as it could have been. We are grateful for the Stephens efforts to drive so far to this area.

Grateful for the love and support each companion offers when challenges come!

A sense of humor always helps lighten the weight....

¡Hola Presidente!

Esta semana fue recen conversos! Cada día esta semana (aparte del lunes) tuvimos un recen converso acompañarnos en por lo menos una cita. Fue por esa razón que pudimos lograr 50 lecciones esta semana. Estamos matando dos pájaros con un solo tiro en esta manera porque estamos fortaleciendo los recen conversos y enseñando investigadores al mismo tiempo. Hoy también, tenemos dos recen conversos que nos van a acompañar por las 3 horas de proselitismo. Estamos ampliando nuestra visión aquí en presas, y ha sido bien bueno.

Elder N y yo también tuvimos la gran oportunidad de ser parte de un milagro esta semana. Estábamos buscando una referencia en una calle, y teníamos que preguntar a muchas personas si la conocían. Muchas personas dijeron que no y nos rechazaron cuando les contactamos. Después de más o menos una hora de esto, entramos en una tienda y preguntamos a la señora si conocía a esa referencia. Ella dijo que no, y antes de que pudiéramos contactarla, ella dijo "de hecho, yo estaba escuchando a ustedes y su mensaje hace diez años. Yo tengo algo que ustedes a lo mejor nunca han visto antes." Ella fue al otro cuarto y sacó unos folletos bien viejos pero bien preservados. La fecha escrita en estos folletos fue de ¡Diciembre de 2004! Ella dijo que estaba escuchando pero nunca se bautizó porque su papá está bien en contra de la iglesia, y vive con él.

La dijimos que nos encantaría poder regresar y seguir platicando con ella, y ella dijo algo interesante: "De hecho, esto es mi último día aquí en esta casa. He vivido aquí por 43 años, y ahora me voy a mudar a (algún lugar)." Con un buen de gusto, nosotros apuntamos su dirección e inmediatamente pasamos sus datos a las oficinas. Su nueva dirección está afuera de la misión, pero salimos de su tienda sin aún un poquito de tristeza. Nos sentimos tan felices de ser parte de un milagro, y yo creo que a lo mejor, los misioneros que están en esa área necesitan un milagro. Me da mucha felicidad de saber que fui un instrumento en las manos del Señor para poder darles este milagro. Fue una experiencia tan padre, y me ayudó a darme cuenta de algo importante: No estoy aquí para poner unos números en una página en mi agenda. Estoy aquí para ayudar en la obra del Señor por traer almas a Él en cualquiera manera que puedo. Yo no voy a tener el número del bautismo de esa hija de Dios, pero yo sé que por medio de las cosas que estoy haciendo en el servicio de Dios, la ayudé a poder progresar en su vida y en el evangelio. Es por esa razón que iré y haré.

This house is unique for this area- a few broken windows we need to get replaced but other than that things look great. They also have had no water for 3 days and so cleaning their house, flushing the toilet, and showering means hauling buckets of water. They also found out today the stove top works! Double bonus!!!

This house is the perfect missionary home because it is small and easy to clean and easy to organize. These two Elders have done a beautiful job!

.....Esta semana fue llena de experiencias nuevas y tambien tan dificiles pero amo como el Señor nos humilla y nos ayuda trabajar aun mas duro!

Contactamos muchisimo esta semana.. yo creo que tocamos casi 300-400 puertas esta semana y de veras casi nadie nos abrio... fue tan dificil.. Creo que nunca he sentido tan rechazado en todo mi mision. Tratamos tanto a entrar en las casas pero muy pocos nos dieron la oportunidad de compartir algo breve.....

Lo milagro fue el sabado. fuimos a muchas citas que habiamos puesto dias anteriores.. Encontramos unos 10 nuevos que son tan buenos.. Familias muy preparados. Aprendi que siempre hay una recompensa por nuestro trabajo..

Elder Herrera was so good to bring the drinks for lunch for the 4 Elders in his ward. The member dropped off their lunch at the church for them.

P-Day in Molango consisted of a cooking class!

"Today we went with Hermana Chave. She is a champ here in Molango. She was kind enough to teach us how to make tamales. It was a good time and our hard work paid off. I can now make tamales. College is paid for Dad! (I hope ha)- Here is my compañero shredding chicken.."

We are blessed to have a great set of pyramids in our mission boundaries. As you know only 4 missionaries are allowed (Safety concerns) in one public place at a time. They are so obedient to ask permission to visit this site ahead of time (If they are serving close by) and President puts it in his calendar to keep track. They always go dressed as a missionary and act as such. Recently we had 4 missionaries visit this site and they ran into 6 missionaries from another mission (out of their mission!) who did not have permission to be there, were not in missionary attire and had taken their name badges off. They talked with them as the could tell they were missionaries.

President Egbert and I are so proud of the level of obedience in the mission and for their willingness to follow the mission rules even if they may not totally agree.

Our missionaries were very disturbed by these other missionaries disobedience which made us smile and even prouder!

Kudos to all the families and parents at home who support and encourage your sons/daughters to serve honorably and obediently. As obedience is the FIRST principle we have to conquer in order to be exceptional servants in his Kingdom.

...... fue una buena semana creo pues yo este sabado fortaleci mi testimonio de la oracion wow enserio estuvimos cantactando (tocando puertas) por cerca de 3 horas y nadie todos os rechazaban y de pronto mi compañero yyo dijimos debemos orar especificamente por que nos reciban en la primer puerta que toqumos despues de la oracion y asi fue pues yo efectue la oracion alado de mi compañero en la banqueta y pedi por eso la proxima puerta nos dejaran bendecir su hogar:) fue tanto el espiritu que pude sentir cuando fui a una puerta y toque luego la señora dijo que estaba ocupada pero la verdad era su esposo el que penso que ibamos a cobrar y nosotros como pues nos reimos y dijimos no pues jesucristop nunca lo hizo asi que nos dejo pasar y bendecimos su hogar y regresamos ayer para enseñarles la restauracion del evangelio ellos si hayan su respuesta se bautizaran estan dispuestos a hacer lo que enseñemos.....me siento bien sirviendo en la misiion dando el esfuerzo que puedo dar le amo

"It's official, Hermana Egbert has lost her mind! Too many house checks, nights making sugar cookies, sick calls and NOT enough diet coke! or maybe too much diet coke?!"

hola presidente, este semana fue muy buena!

Dando los 5 lecciones a los conversos nos ayuda ver el progreso de ellos. Ernesto esta trabajando con su historia familiar y no recordaba las fechas que necesita. Oro por ayuda y tuvo un sueño donde su esposa y hermana vinieron y hablaron con el de todos los fechas y personas y le dijeron que quieren que alguien se bautice por ellos. las dos ya fallecieron.

Grether tuve la oportunidad de explicar a su mama, no miembro, la importancia y las bendiciones de pagar el diezmo. También cuando ensenamos del día de reposo, ella estaba un poco preocupada por sus tareas, pero no sentía que es algo que le ayuda acercarse a dios. ella estudie lunes a viernes y trabaja sábados, hace sus tareas los domingos. Este semana ella renuncio su trabajo para poder tener un día de hacer tareas y guardar el día de reposo. Es increíble a ver la conversión crecer en las personas cuando actúen con fe.

Siento bien en mi área, tenemos dos nuevas fechas de este semana, los dos están progresando muy bien! Estamos muy felices, mejorando en la balancea de iniciativa.

Sometimes interviews are interrupted by other missionaries who call like 10 times in 2 minutes! They better be dead or dying to be taking up our time!!!
